The Basque country is located in the North-East corner of Spain and is surrounded by the Cantabrian Sea. It includes the provinces of: Álava, Vizcaya and Guipùzcoa, whose three capitals are: Vitoria-Gasteiz, Bilbao and San Sebastián, places of great interest for tourists coming to visit these wonderful places.

The first two cities, Bilbao and Vitoria, are without doubt the attraction for art and culture. In Bilbao, the largest city of the Basque country, you must not miss the numerous museums, starting from the Guggenheim, opened in 1997, which houses mostly works of modern and contemporary art. To enjoy a bit of classical art we recommend the Museo de Bellas Artes, while for the religious aspect there’s the Museo de Pasos which hosts exhibitions all dedicated to the religious heritage of Bilbao.

Obviously Bilbao is also beautiful in the streets, take a ride to the historic center, where the Gothic Santiago Cathedral is located or maybe move to the classical walk “Arenal”, a place where you will find theatres, universities and interesting shops.

Vitoria-Gasteiz is also rich in culture, a place of a distinctive medieval charm that enchants all tourists with it astonishing monuments and cathedrals, including the Santa Maria (Old Cathedral) and the Cathedral of Maria Immaculada (New Cathedral). There are also several museums to visit here, in addition to the parks that make the city very livable.

Numerous parks are also in San Sebastian, third largest city of the Basque country. Renowned for its coastline and its fantastic beaches, among which are the Playa de Ondarreta and la Playa de La Concha.
