Egypt is a place that houses one of the oldest civilizations known and its capital city, Cairo, oozes charm, mystery and history. Its beauty is renowned in the world and, at least once, should be seen in a person’s lifetime. Autumn and spring are perhaps the best times to travel to the capital. Most of the towns lie on both sides of the Nile, while there are uninhabited desert areas of the Sahara. It is precisely on the two banks of the Nile where Cairo lies.
Extremely chaotic capital, Cairo is also a charming place. Within the city, as for the more simple monuments, you’ll end up in front of the three pyramids of Giza, Menkaure, Khafre and Khufu. The pyramids of Giza, are one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, and a place of absolute beauty.
Always in Giza is also the Sphinx. Face the world’s largest statue, 75 meters long, 20 meters tall and 6 wide, its something hard to miss. The beauty of this mythological being, with a lion’s body and a human face will remain unforgettable to anyone who stands before it.
Do not miss the Egyptian Museum, with the treasures of Tutankhamon, sarcophagi of Pharaohs made of gold and precious stones, religious relics, Thrones and golden statues.
Be sure not to miss the Mosques in Cairo: Ibn Hassan, Thun and other places of worship.
Last stop, in the city, is the Khan el Khalili, a street with hundreds of shops and stalls where you will find everything: souvenirs, objects and thousands of more or less interesting things.
