Next to join the European Union, Croatia is one of the countries formerly known as Yugoslavia, which rely on tourism, thanks to the beautiful coastlines and very pleasant climate. Its territory is very varied, giving visitors the opportunity to choose the type of vacation they want amongst the different offerings.
Exactly, because in Croatia there is something for every taste! If you’re a nature lover, visit the National Park of Plitvice Lakes, 16 lakes connected by waterfalls, surrounded by greenery, including incredible performances of unspoilt flora and fauna.
For lovers of the sea, instead, you should visit Makarska, in Dalmatia, one of the most fashionable places, where 50 kilometres of coastline offer hiking trails, fantastic beaches, in the right combination of tranquility and fun.
An absolute must, however, for those on vacation not too fond of nature, but love art and culture, is the town of Dubrovink, whose historical centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Surrounded by stone walls, the old city was rebuilt following the bombing of the early 90s and is home to several historic buildings of unique significance: the clock tower, Sponza Palace and several churches and cathedrals, in addition to the Museum of fine arts.Categories: Guides
