Particularly widespread in Parisian nightclubs are costume parties, but no lack of attractions for those who want to explore the dark sides of the city during the day.
You could start, for example, with an unusual and interesting visit to the Père-Lachaise cemetery, the first and largest civil cemeteries in Paris that “hosts” illustrious musicians, poets and art and entertainment personalities, not only French.
Among the tombs of the most famous personalities we find that of Edith Piaf, Marcel Proust, Oscar Wilde and Jim Morrison.
Thierry Le Roi, which calls itself the “necro-romantic”, organizes guided tours that can become real touring shows, where to discover the funerary architecture and the stories of the people buried in this cemetery.
The Paris Catacombs
Also the Catacombs of Paris are a very suitable choice for the Halloween weekend.
The origins of this place date back to the eighteenth century, when the State Council closed the cemetery of the Innocents, became outbreak of infection for the local residents, and decided to move the remains contained in some disused quarries.
So, between 1786 and 1788, at nightfall and following a precise ritual, processions of monks escorted wagons loaded with bones from the cemetery to the current ossuary.
Another attraction that on Halloween night will remain open until midnight is the Manoir of Paris, haunted house halfway between the museum and the amusement park in which the public can relive some of the most troubling Parisian legends, like the Phantom of the Opera, the Iron Mask or the Hunchback of Notre-Dame.
During the Halloween season, you can go disguised and made up.
Also Disneyland Paris changes for a night from magical realm of fairy tales and dreams into the Nightmare Realm and the thrill.
The “Soirée Halloween Disney” will begin at dusk when the ghosts, and the evil Disney creatures will gather for a spooky party, while at the stroke of midnight a chilling spectacle of light and sound will shake the visitors in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle.
The villains of the Disney are looking forward to meet you !!!Categories: Curiosities
