Lucerne is a beautiful town in the north-central Switzerland. Characterized by the presence of the Lake of the Four Forest Cantons, the city has many places and reasons to be admired. The lake, first of all, is a place that offers a magic atmosphere. The calm waters are the ideal place from which to admire the surrounding mountains, like Mount Pilatus and Mount Rigi, belonging to the Swiss Alps.
The Kapellbrucke is one of the first wooden bridges ever built. It is characterized by the presence of 110 wooden panels, painted in the seventeenth century, depicting the history and the events of the city and Switzerland. The bridge was destroyed in 1993 by a serious fire and rebuilt in just 8 months.
Also located on the River Reuss, there is another attraction: the water tower. Octagonal in shape, it was built in 1200 and inside there are numerous paintings. In Lucerna do not miss the museums, like the one dedicated to Richard Wagner, the Museum of Art, the Museum of Transportation and the Historical Museum as well as some churches.
Spending a day in Lucerna is like going to a place where culture and nature live in harmony. A rather small town is able to host different places of cultural interest, leaving intact its unspoilt nature that, in certain places like the long lake, allow the visitor to breathe a clean air, making it an ideal place to spend a few pleasant days .Categories: Guides
